Ingredients

Scale

  • For the Base Recipe:
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and finely chopped
  • For the Maple Glaze:
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract to the bowl, whisking until fully incorporated.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chopped apples. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the blondies cool completely.
  7. For the glaze, melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in maple syrup and bring to a gentle simmer. Remove from heat and whisk in powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.
  8. Pour the glaze over the cooled blondies, spreading evenly. Allow the glaze to set before slicing and serving.
