- 1 lb breakfast sausage
- 1 cup chopped bell peppers (red and green for a festive look)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 8 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 4 cups cubed bread
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- In the prepared baking dish, layer the bread cubes, cooked sausage, chopped bell peppers, and shredded cheese.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layers in the baking dish.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the casserole is set and golden on top.
- Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
