- 6 thick slices of brioche or challah bread
- 3 large eggs
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 2 tbsp heavy cream
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- Pinch of salt
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup cream cheese glaze (or icing)
- Maple syrup and powdered sugar for serving
Instructions
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Heat a large non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt 1 tbsp of butter.
- Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, letting it soak for a few seconds on each side.
- Place the slices on the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and slightly crispy.
- Repeat with remaining slices, adding more butter as needed.
- Drizzle with cream cheese glaze, dust with powdered sugar, and serve with maple syrup.
