- 12 ounces spaghetti or fettuccine
- 3 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; sauté until fragrant.
- Sprinkle flour over the onion mixture and stir for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in chicken broth and heavy cream, cooking until thickened.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Add shredded chicken and cooked pasta, tossing to coat.
- Transfer mixture to the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and breadcrumbs on top.
