- 8 large eggs
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
Instructions
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Arrange the slices of French bread in the dish, overlapping slightly if necessary.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread slices, ensuring each piece is soaked. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
- The next morning, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and melted butter. Drizzle this mixture over the soaked bread.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden and the casserole is set.
