- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 4 slices of fresh mozzarella (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (around 400°F). Brush the grill grates with oil to prevent sticking.
- Rub the chicken breasts with olive oil and season evenly with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Place the chicken on the grill and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- While the chicken is grilling, warm the marinara sauce in a small saucepan over low heat.
- Once the chicken is cooked, transfer it to a baking sheet. Top each chicken breast with 2-3 tablespoons of marinara sauce, shredded mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese.
- Return the chicken to the grill (or use a grill-safe pan) and close the lid. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese melts and bubbles.
- Remove from the grill and garnish with fresh basil leaves. Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes.
