- 1 pound ground pork sausage
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 egg, lightly beaten (plus 1 for egg wash)
- 1 package puff pastry sheets, thawed
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground sausage, thyme, garlic powder, onion powder, Dijon mustard, one beaten egg, salt, and pepper. Mix well to incorporate.
- Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Cut each sheet into rectangles, approximately 4×6 inches.
- Spoon a line of sausage mixture along the center of each pastry rectangle. Fold the pastry over the sausage, sealing the edges by pressing firmly with a fork.
- Place the sausage rolls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed, and the sausage is cooked through.
- Allow the sausage rolls to cool slightly before serving.
