  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten (plus 1 for egg wash)
  • 1 package puff pastry sheets, thawed
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground sausage, thyme, garlic powder, onion powder, Dijon mustard, one beaten egg, salt, and pepper. Mix well to incorporate.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Cut each sheet into rectangles, approximately 4×6 inches.
  4. Spoon a line of sausage mixture along the center of each pastry rectangle. Fold the pastry over the sausage, sealing the edges by pressing firmly with a fork.
  5. Place the sausage rolls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed, and the sausage is cooked through.
  7. Allow the sausage rolls to cool slightly before serving.
