  • Total Time: 35 min
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

These steak nachos are loaded with tender steak, gooey cheese, and fresh toppings. Perfect for game days, parties, or a family snack night!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound flank steak or skirt steak
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 bag (10 oz) tortilla chips
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese or Mexican blend cheese
  • 1 cup black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 1 jalapeño, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or crema
  • 1 avocado, diced (optional)
  • Salsa and lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or cast-iron skillet to medium-high heat. Rub the steak with olive oil and season with chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  2. Cook the steak for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust to your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing into thin strips.
  3. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread tortilla chips in a single layer on a large, oven-safe platter or baking sheet.
  4. Layer the sliced steak, black beans, shredded cheese, diced red onion, and jalapeño slices over the chips. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Remove from the oven and top with fresh cilantro, sour cream or crema, diced avocado (if using), and a squeeze of lime.
  6. Serve immediately with salsa and lime wedges on the side for an extra burst of flavor.
